Plastic waste has become one of the waste problems that must be addressed immediately because plastic waste is the largest contributor to landfill that pollutes the environment. Seeing this fact, it is necessary to make efforts to manage plastic waste through the recycling mechanism and record its management through Plastic Credit as part of the responsibility for implementing recycling. plastic waste, Plastic Credit itself is a project that has the goal of recording the amount of plastic uptake and recycling that has been carried out, this record is intended as a reference in increasing and targeting the achievements of plastic waste processing every year.

To achieve the Plastic Credit absorption target, Imaji Sociopreneur collaborated with PT HM Sampoerna to develop and assist plastic waste management units through the Recycle Hub, Waste Bank and Collection Points spread across Jember Regency since October 2022.

In an effort to increase the amount of absorption and management of plastic waste, a system and cooperation are needed in carrying out all operations of each unit, through plastic waste management activities that contribute to reducing the amount of plastic waste that is spread and pollutes the environment. The activities carried out in this program are waste management from home through the process of sorting and collecting waste by the community which will later be collected at our unit in the form of a waste bank or collection point which will carry out further processing such as cleaning and grouping waste according to their respective types. The results of the processing will be sent to the Recycle Hub for further processing in the form of enumeration and balled press so that the waste is ready to be processed and made into recycled products later.

Apart from having an environmental impact, this plastic waste management activity also has a positive impact economically because plastic waste commodities that are managed properly and correctly can have a good selling value and can create jobs for the community. This plastic waste management activity also provides social enthusiasm to the managers of each unit because collection, sorting and management activities can also be a means of socialization between residents so that good relationships are established within the community through waste savings and alms activities.

The implementation of this plastic waste management program is a concrete manifestation of the private sector's contribution in taking on a role in improving people's welfare and protecting the environment better.
