Imaji Sociopreneur, through its flagship education program Imaji Academy, implements experiential learning for students from partner schools in collaboration with ALP Village.
Through the Agriculture feature, students are taught how to plant, care for, and make use of the crops they cultivate. The program also introduces them to agricultural technology while building confidence and pride as the next generation of Indonesia’s farmers.
Students receive both theoretical and practical training in cultivation, guided by Gerak teachers, facilitators formed by Imaji Sociopreneur to lead learning at each school. This approach not only transfers knowledge to students but also develops the capacity of teachers, ensuring that Imaji Academy contributes to both student education and teacher development.
The Agriculture feature is supported by greenhouses established in each school. After running for nearly three years, every school now has its own signature crops, ranging from vegetables, horticultural products, fruits, and medicinal plants to ornamentals. Today, these greenhouses have grown beyond being mere educational tools; in many schools, they have become economic assets as well. Several schools have successfully utilized and sold their greenhouse harvests, creating an additional source of income.
This initiative reflects one of our key goals: ensuring that social activities remain sustainable through economic empowerment. Encouragingly, schools are already taking steps toward self-reliance—currently, 40% of greenhouse operational costs are independently financed by the schools themselves, with the expectation that this proportion will continue to grow in the future.
