Imaji Sociopreneur, an institution engaged in the community development sector held a discussion forum and socialization of the ALP Village program with tobacco farmers, village officials, community groups & environmental, education and economic activists in Sabrang Village, Ambulu District, Jember Regency, Monday (23/8).

This activity is part of a series of Agricultural Worker Practice Village Model (ALP Village) programs initiated by Imaji Sociopreneur and PT. Universal Tempu Rejo since July 2021 in 7 villages in Jember Regency, East Java.

Moch. Musta'Anul Khusni, Director of Imaji Sociopreneur said there are 3 sectors that are the focus of community development by his team, namely education, economy, and the environment.

"Our focus is to create an agricultural village model that is economically independent, friendly to the environment, and free from child labor practices," he said.

Furthermore, the man who is familiarly called Anul explained that to make this happen, cooperation from a number of parties is needed, especially from community groups, farmers, and village officials.

"Through this discussion forum, we hope to explore the potential and exchange ideas with various elements in the village. So that in the future, the programs implemented really have an impact on the community," he explained.

Regarding the selection of Sabrang Village as one of the program targets, Anul had his own reasons. According to him, Sabrang Village has considerable potential but is rarely observed.

"In terms of location, for example, Sabrang Village is always passed by tourists who want to visit Watu Ulo beach. So the mobility of travelers is quite high, this makes Sabrang so potential to be developed together," he said.

Also attending the event, Zubaeri Luthfi, the Head of Sabrang Village, appreciated the community development program implemented by Imaji Sociopreneur in his village. He hopes that the synergy between his party and Imaji Sociopreneur can really answer a number of challenges that exist in society.

"Hopefully this activity can really answer the challenges faced by the community in the education, economic and environmental sectors," he said.

Although only about 20 people could attend due to following the health protocols, the discussion forum was quite active and two-way. A number of community groups did not hesitate to ask questions and exchange ideas.

This activity ended with the signing of a community development program collaboration between village officials, sociopreneur images, and each community group before being held in September 2021. (*)
